Light Fixture Cleaning

We are dedicated to improving your view!

Chandelier and Exterior Light Cleaning

You bought that beautiful, sparkling chandelier, and now it seems impossible to reach it, or to get it clean by yourself. Light fixtures can set the tone for every room in the house, which is why it’s important to keep them clean. After all, dusty and grimy is probably not the mood you had in mind when you were selecting your chandeliers, or picking out those Einstein bulbs. Deja View is here to help you get it shining once again! Using old school methods like soapy water and elbow grease, we are pros at getting your fixtures dust free and bright again. Using the appropriate safety measures and equipment, we can reach almost any fixture, inside or on the exterior of your home. Even if you just need those hard to reach light bulbs or smoke detector batteries changed, our professionally trained technicians are here to help. You can be sure that we will take great care and caution when in your home. Drop cloths will be used to cover the surrounding areas, and shoe covers worn. All of our ladders have special rubber tips and feet to make sure your floors and walls are protected too. Rest assured you are in good hands when you call Deja View.

How do you clean interior lighting?

In most situations, the light fixture will need to be carefully disassembled, or have the glass and crystals removed for proper cleaning. This is risky, but also helps ensure that we can get the glass streak free. After washing with soap and water, the glass is dried and replaced. Any metalwork and hardware will also be polished. It is suggested that you provide new bulbs for your lights as well. Many people find it’s the perfect time to have us install new LED bulbs that will last a long time. If your fixture doesn’t come apart easily, it will get sprayed and hand cleaned in place if possible. For your safety, we do not use chemicals, or “leave on” sprays. You don’t want your home to smell like solvents, and neither do we.

How do you clean exterior lighting?

Because every light fixture is different, the answer is rarely the same. Exterior light fixtures are usually more difficult to take apart, so they typically will get cleaned by hand and in place. They can sometimes be very tough to reach, which causes us to clean them in place also. The bulbs will get removed, wiped, and replaced with new bulbs as necessary. Just like windows, we will clean the entire fixture, not just the glass. All bugs, spiders, webs, and leaves will be vacuumed or blown out too. Just point, and we will take care of the rest!

How much does it cost to get my lights cleaned?

As you can probably imagine, cleaning a chandelier can be a time-consuming task. However, a standard carriage lamp might only take us a few minutes. Most simple light fixtures can cost between $10 – $25 to have cleaned, depending on their location. For your more unique chandeliers and fixtures, we would be happy to provide you with a more specific price. Simply call or text us a photo of your lights to 720-331-8940, and our cleaning specialists will answer your questions, and provide you with a detailed quote.

Our People are the Deja View Difference

Safety is Deja View’s number one priority. One of the hardest parts of cleaning light fixtures is that it frequently requires a ladder. Add to that the fact that you are usually unscrewing the light fixture while on the ladder, and an accident is a possibility. Because of this, we take many steps to help guarantee we perform all services with safety at the top of our mind. All technicians are back-ground checked and skills tested before they are allowed on a job site. Technicians have to pass our initial 10 day intensive training just to be able to then take the additional training to be allowed on a ladder. New technicians learn by helping (from the ground) and watching experienced technicians. There is never a situation where we are asking someone to do something they are unprepared to do safely. We discuss best practices and OSHA requirements during our training and use videos, quizzes, live-demonstrations, and continual training throughout the year to comply with the State of Colorado Division of Labor’s Cost Containment Program, which is designed to reward companies with a proven track record of safety with lower Worker’s Compensation Insurance premiums. We try to schedule dangerous light cleaning jobs with two or more technicians in case they need to help each other carrying or holding the ladders. Using our Customer Relationship Management program we are able to keep detailed, extensive notes on each job location. If there is added complexity, or a higher risk of hazard, we are aware of it, and send our most experienced technicians.

These procedures help give all Deja View customers the peace of mind knowing that we make every reasonable attempt to maintain our safety record and prevent injuries. We are fully insured with General Liability Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance in case the worst case scenario does happen, despite our best efforts. Under no circumstances will any of our customers be liable for any damage or injury that may occur for any reason.
